We recommend the orange one for the most avid readers (anyone who might be working on a project) and the green one for those with less time on their hands.
Download the Greenroads Project Handbook. [Note 4-2-12 - we are working on an update to this document, check back soon]

As part of the research and development of Greenroads, we rated over 100 projects and ran some statistical tests to understand how the rating system works with different types of projects. Some of the projects we rated are listed in our case studies and some others are currently pursuing certification or Pilot Projects with us.
There are currently over 20 projects registered or pending registration in 5 states. You can view a list of the registered projects in the Project Directory.
A design consultant, concessionaire or contractor may be the authorized agent of a Greenroads project and see the project through the certification process so long as they can provide us proof of representation/agency. However, the Owner of the roadway needs to sign a close out form for all certifications to demonstrate their intent to comply with our sublicensing terms for use of the certification mark on their roadway.
This is a tough question because it really depends on the project. We recommend you contact us if you are wondering about this. Or better, fill out the free screening application and we will call you.
Generally, if you are currently IN DESIGN, the way to lock your project into the current version of the Greenroads Rating System is to register under that version. Greenroads has major updates approximately once every three years and we publish addendums/errata once a year.
If your project is unfunded, please note that registration expires after 2 years of non-use and you will need to renew it if the project gets funded.
If you anticipate that your project will not be built within the next 3 years, give us a call and we can still help. You can also get your project assessed early in planning through our A-Lined Assessment process, which includes registration and expedited review when the time comes to build and certify.
We are putting a considerable amount of time into developing these programs right now and hope to have a beta version developed in 2012. Stay tuned!
